Person of interest in shooting deaths of 2 woman in north Houston takes his own life

HOUSTON – A person of interest in the shooting deaths of two woman in north Houston has taken his own life, according to police.

The shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. at 133 E. 37th Street.

According to Houston Police, officers responded to the home and found a 39-year-old and 22-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the two women along with a third woman were on the front porch when an unknown person walked up and shot the two women before fleeing the scene. The third woman was not hurt.

At 4:54 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2800 block of Chapman Street. When they arrived, they found a man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A detective said the man was a person of interest in the shooting of the two woman on E. 37th Street early Wednesday morning.
