Wet weather expected remainder of week

Upper 80's and lower 90's throughout the week.

HOUSTON - After isolated showers and thunderstorms on Labor Day, expect more widespread wet weather as the work and school week begins.

Labor Day evening will be warm and dry, but a slug of Gulf Moisture pushes into southeast Texas beginning Tuesday morning, bringing with it a better chance for rain in the region. Early Tuesday morning expect scattered rain showers along coastal areas. Then, as lunch time approaches and temperatures approach 90 degrees, showers and thunderstorms will break out and move through our interior counties, including metropolitan Houston. Expect scattered thunderstorms to persist through Tuesday afternoon.

Temperatures will range from the mid and upper 70s at daybreak to near 92 degrees by mid-afternoon. Afternoon rain chances will decrease from 50 percent Tuesday to 20 percent for the remainder of the week. Temperatures will hover in the low to mid 90s every day this week.
