Wednesday's forecast: Isolated afternoon showers

HOUSTON – There is a 30 percent chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon. The activity will be isolated to scattered; however, some of the showers could produce heavy downpours.

Highs for Wednesday will be around 88 degrees in Houston and 86 degrees in Galveston.

Relative humidity will continue to be high throughout the day, so prepare for sticky conditions.

High temperatures for Thursday and Friday will be in the upper 80s to low 90s with a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms.

On Saturday, we have a chance of scattered storms ahead of the strongest cold front so far this fall. Highs this weekend will be in the upper 80s on Saturday, but dip slightly to the upper 70s and lower 80s on Sunday.

Overnight lows by Monday morning will drop into the 50s.
