Heat Advisory issued for Houston area on Friday until 7 p.m.

HOUSTON – A Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for this afternoon. Heat index values are expected to reach into the 105 to 110 range in areas south and east of Highway 59 today. Winds are expected to be lighter this afternoon than they have the past few days which may result in temperatures feeling hotter.

It will be 98 degrees Friday afternoon and could feel as hot as 108 degrees.

Extreme heat and sunshine will continue through the weekend.

The Heat Advisory is in effect for Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Jackson, Liberty, Matagorda and Wharton counties. 

The Heat Advisory will remain in effect until 7 p.m.
