A hard freeze warning has been issued for all of southeast Texas, with the exception of Galveston, for Saturday night. It goes into effect at 7 p.m. Saturday and lasts until 9 a.m. Sunday. Temperatures away from the immediate coast will fall to between 15 and 25 degrees for several hours overnight, so make precautions to protect people, pets, plants and pipes tonight.

In the meantime, temperatures will struggle to reach 40 degrees during the day Saturday. Sunny skies will help to warm us up, but a brisk north wind at 10 to 15 mph will make it feel like 32 degrees or lower all day. Make sure to dress in layers and cover as much exposed skin as possible while you’re outside.

Temperatures will finally begin to moderate beginning Monday. The prevailing wind will shift to a southeast flow, ending our freeze threat and bringing afternoon highs into the 60s on Monday and the 70s on Tuesday. The warm stretch will last for the majority of the coming week.
Our next chance for rain will come Wednesday, at the earliest.
Tailgating weather for Saturday's Texans game will be cold and windy, with temperatures in the 40s and feels-like temperatures in the 30s.
