Tropical moisture in Gulf could bring weekend rain chances
It is not expected to form into anything tropical
HOUSTON – All quiet as you grab your coffee or tea Tuesday morning.
Most areas started the day in the upper 70s and low 80s, with just a few showers moving in around the south coast. Later Tuesday morning, we'll see a mostly clear sky and will be watching for temperatures to warm quickly into the mid-80s.
Later Tuesday afternoon, it will still feel very summer-like with highs in the upper 80s to near 90. There's a slight chance to see a few streamer showers as we round out the day but not as widespread as Monday.
Later this week, we can expect more heat with highs generally sitting in the upper 80s and low 90s, and mostly dry until we reach the weekend.
A tropical wave of Gulf moisture is drifting across the Yucatan, which will beef up our rain chances potentially by Friday and Saturday. However, at this time, we're not expecting it to form into anything tropical.
