Sunny, cold Wednesday afternoon

HOUSTON – After a hard freeze Wednesday morning across all of southeast Texas, bright sunshine will help us to warm up, but only into the mid-40s.

Highs on Wednesday will be close to 20 degrees, which is below normal for this time of year.

Another cold night lies ahead, with temperatures dipping below freezing into the upper 20s.

A hard freeze is possible well north of the city, where temperatures could drop into the mid-20s for several hours overnight.

A steady warming trend will take hold through the weekend, when temperatures finally return to normal.

Look for highs in the 60s Saturday and low 70s Sunday.

A weak cold front Sunday night will bring a slight chance for rain on Sunday and Monday. Otherwise, the forecast is dry for Houston for the foreseeable future.
