Rain tapers off Saturday evening, more storms possible Sunday

Sunday storms not as widespread as Saturday's wet weather

HOUSTON – Strong storms that pushed through southeast Texas Saturday afternoon will continue to move down the coast and away from Houston Saturday evening.

Leftover light rain will taper off quickly through sunset in the metro Houston area.

Dry weather will continue overnight and into Sunday morning. More storms are likely to develop Sunday afternoon as temperatures once again top 90 degrees during the warmest part of the day.

Sunday's storms will not be as widespread as Saturday's. Expect 50 percent coverage over the course of the day, with many places remaining rain-free. Where the rain does fall, though, it could fall hard.

Minor flooding and ponding on roads is certainly possible with a handful of storms Sunday afternoon.
