Some parts of the Houston area are waking up to rain. Showers will continue throughout the morning commute.
Monday afternoon, there is a 40-50 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s, with a high of 86 degrees expected.
Looking ahead to the week, look for daily afternoon storms to flare up as we get to the hottest part of the day. We could see 1-3" of rain with some heavier downpours closer to 3-5". Temperatures will start to warm back up into the mid-90s by the weekend.
