HOUSTON – Houston can expect a wild swing in temperatures by Sunday morning, forecasters said Thursday.
According to KPRC 2 meteorologist Britta Merwin, Houston started Thursday in the lower 50s, and temperatures will top out in the upper 50s with lots of sunshine.
“Jackets are a must,” Merwin said.
A few more clouds are expected on Friday, as well as warmer temperatures, Merwin said. Highs will jump into the lower to mid-70s.
Merwin said a high of 80 degrees is expected Saturday before big changes arrive by the evening.
“Overnight showers and storms are expected into early Sunday morning with a cold front blasting through,” Merwin said.
Behind the front, Merwin said, temperatures will plummet into the 30s and 40s Sunday morning in southeast Texas.
The wintry weather will stick around through the beginning of the week, with a freeze possible Monday and Tuesday mornings, Merwin said.
