A wet Sunday with scattered showers and thunderstorms is expected throughout most of the day.
Some of the storms will be strong with heavy rainfall and could cause some street flooding.
A flash flood watch is in place until 7 p.m. for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Grimes, Madison and Washington Counties as 1-2 inches or more rain is expected in areas that were drenched by Saturday rains.
Montgomery and Waller counties are also seeing heavy rainfall as all the storm movement in the region is generally from a SW to NE direction.
“Training” or the occurrence of repeated storms over the same area is what creates the biggest concern. Other watches and advisories are possible depending on the rainfall amounts.
The 60-70% rain chances and clouds will keep high temps in the 80s. Expect 40% chances on Monday with slightly higher temps in the low 90s.
For most of the ten day forecast period, expect temps to stay in the low to mid 90s and rain chances for most of the week in the 20-30% range.
