July fry continues, heat advisory in effect for Houston area
The sizzle is on! A Heat Advisory has been expanded to include all of Southeast Texas through 8 p.m. Wednesday.
"Feels Like" temperatures already hitting 100 is some areas and will top out between 103-109 later today.
No rain chances for Wednesday just plenty of heat so make sure to take some precautions if you are working outside in the midday heat.
The city of Houston has activated its Heat Emergency Plan. Adults older than 55, and children under the age of 5, are asked to stay indoors and in air conditioning during the hottest part of the day from 1 p.m. through 5 p.m.
The pattern shifts just a bit by the weekend which should allow the return of some afternoon showers/thunderstorms with the sea breeze. However, don't expect to see more than 20-30 percent coverage each day, but the clouds will shave off a degree or two each afternoon.
