Heavy Rain & Lightning For Saturday Morning

Heavy rain and lightning, especially along the coast this Saturday morning where rain rates of 1-2 inches an hour in Galveston and up to 5 inches on the Bolivar Peninsula have prompted flash flood warnings for the Galveston Chambers county warned areas until 6:45.

Much of the region has seen rain this morning and will continue to see strong storms through at least late morning as tropical moisture continues to be pumped into the region by an area of low pressure to our West.

Conditions will improve throughout the day but isolated showers and thunderstorms will be around until a front moves through on Sunday.

Flash Flood watch will remain in place all day as even isolated heavy rain will cause flood issues with our already saturated grounds.
