A man has been charged after he was involved in a major crash that left a woman dead early Sunday near Chinatown, according to Houston police.

Popfancy Dessert Bar has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp. Since it's still soft opening, I got to try the flurry ice cream and ice pops."

Located at 3901 Bellaire Blvd., Suite 212, the fresh arrival is called Upgrade Salons. Upgrade Salons offers wigs and "luxury" hair extension installation/care services that maintain the health and beauty of one's natural hair. If maintaining your natural hair is what you're after, the salon also offers cut, styling and deep conditioning treatments. Upgrade Salons has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp. Upgrade Salons is open from 9 a.m.6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A new Korean and Asian fusion spot, offering chicken wings and more, has made its debut in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Sharpstown, called Soho Chicken, is located at 9393 Bellaire Blvd., Suite A3. Soho Chicken has fried chicken, stir-fry dishes, noodles and stew. With a 3.5-star rating out of 25 reviews on Yelp so far, Soho Chicken is getting solid feedback. Soho Chicken is open from 11 a.m.11 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.10 p.m. on Sunday.

A new Chinese spot, offering noodles and soups, has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 9889 Bellaire Blvd., Suite 308, in Sharpstown, the fresh addition is called Mifen Prince. With a 4.5-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh addition has been warmly received by patrons. Na L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 24, wrote, "One of the most authentic spicy noodle soup house[s] in Houston from Guizhou... Yelper W W. added, "The broth and flavors are on point.

Called Pepper Lunch, the new arrival is located at 9393 Bellaire Blvd., Suite C, in Sharpstown. Pepper Lunch has menu items ranging from the signature Pepper Rice with chicken seafood or bee to the wild Angus steak to the beef and chicken sizzling curry. Pepper Lunch has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp. And Chau H. wrote, "Pepper lunch is delicious and I love the fact that they have a self-ordering system as well as a cashier." Pepper Lunch has yet to post its hours online.

A new Vietnamese and Asian fusion spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Migo Saigon Food Street, the new arrival is located at 9393 Bellaire Blvd., Suite H, in Sharpstown. The eatery is part of the new Bellaire Food Street complex. Migo Saigon Food Street has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a 3.5-star rating out of 57 reviews on Yelp. Migo Saigon Food Street is open from 511 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday.

A new spot to score bubble tea and more has debuted in the neighborhood. Located in Sharpstown at 9393 Bellaire Blvd., Suite D, the fresh addition is called Chatime. Part of the world's largest international tea shop franchises, Chatime specializes in milk tea drinks. The casual Taiwanese tea shop offers dozens of international tea products, including hot teas, cold leaf teas and fruit teas, as well as smoothies, coffee and mousse foam. Chatime is now open daily from 11 a.m.-10 p.m., so stop in to try it for yourself.

You're in luck: Meet Fresh has added a new location at 9393 Bellaire Blvd., Unit I in Sharpstown. Meet Fresh, which has locations in California, New York, Washington, Colorado and Nevada, specializes in traditional Taiwanese desserts. On the menu, expect to see items like icy grass jelly, tofu pudding, icy taro ball and shaved ice. I have liked everything that I've ever ordered at Meet Fresh. I had taro ball No.4 with fresh taro and fresh peanut."

From a dessert spot to a Mediterranean restaurant, read on for the newest businesses to land around town. This international franchise has locations in nearly every corner of the world, including 30 in the United States. The spot serves up traditional Taiwanese desserts like soft taro balls, shaved ice and herbal grass jelly with many topping options. The Chicken & Rice GuysNew to 2723 Yale St. in the Heights is The Chicken & Rice Guys, a Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and halal spot. The menu features seasoned skewered fish and meats (such as squid, chicken, lamb, sausage and beef) as well as noodle soup and hibachi potatoes.

Located at 9889 Bellaire Blvd., Suite D238, in Sharpstown, the newcomer is called Good Harvest. Good Harvest has more than 50 locations in China, with four American outposts in New York, North Carolina and Georgia. With a 3.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Good Harvest has gotten a good response. Although it is a hot pot place, my friends and I opted out and tried their other specialties, as well as the two split option prime ribs and their blue crab. Good Harvest has yet to share its business hours online.

The fresh arrival to Sharpstown, called Fat Ni BBQ, is located at 9393 Bellaire Blvd., Suite A1. This is the third Texas location for Fat Ni BBQ. With a 3.5-star rating out of 44 reviews on Yelp so far, Fat Ni BBQ has gotten a good response. We tried lamb, chicken wings, shrimp, fish ball, mushroom and leek. Bernies Burger Bus marked five years as a brick-and-mortar restaurant at 5407 Bellaire Blvd., Ste A., Bellaire, in June. Chef Justin Turner opened the food truck in 2010, and after its first Bellaire location, added restaurants in the Heights, Katy and Missouri City, as well as Reliant Stadium, serving playfully named burgers, fries and milkshakes. Yelper Crystal K. added, "I stopped by earlier today and got my hands on a green tea puff with green tea filling. IW Marks Jewelers, 3841 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, donated $2,500 to the American Cancer Society of Houston on May 12 as part of its fourth annual Love Mom Charity Challenge.
