MIAMI – A major internet outage is affecting almost the entire East Coast of the U.S.
BGR.com reports the outage is due to an issue with Amazon Web Services, the cloud services arm of Amazon which is used by major websites.
Amazon has identified the issue and is attempting to fix the issue.
“We’ve identified the issue as high error rates with S3 in US-EAST-1,” Amazon says on one of it's sites, adding the issue “is also impacting applications and services dependent on S3. We are actively working on remediating the issue.”
Users that can access the parts of the internet that are functioning are flooding sites with complaints about the problems.
