Texans' Jadeveon Clowney named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for performance against Colts

HOUSTON – Texans DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week following his Week 4 performance in the Texans' win over the Colts.

Clowney scored a touchdown in Houston's 37-34 overtime victory.

He recorded four solo tackles, two sacks, four QB hits, four tackles for a loss and the fumble recovery in the end zone for a touchdown.

Clowney is the only player to record at least 2.0 sacks, four tackles for loss and one fumble recovery returned for a touchdown in a single game since tackles for loss became an official NFL stat. He did it in Week 4 and also did it in Week 3 last season.

It's the first Player of the Week honor for Clowney and the 41st time a Texan has been named Player of the Week in franchise history. It is the 15th time Houston has won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award in team history and first time since CB Johnathan Joseph in Week 6 of the 2017 season.
