Spieth, Rose commit to 2018 Houston Open

World no. 4 Spieth, no. 5 Rose to play Houston Open

HOUSTON – The 2018 Houston Open field received two major commitments on Tuesday, with world No. 4 Jordan Spieth and world No. 5 Justin Rose now set to be in the 2018 Houston Open field. 

The duo joins world No. 8 Rickie Fowler is in the field, to date, as fans can watch three of the top 10 players in the world compete for the trophy at the 71st Houston Open.

The tournament is schedule for March 26 – April 1 at the Golf Club of Houston.

Spieth, a three-time major championship winner, will make his sixth consecutive appearance at the Houston Open. Spieth lost in a three-way playoff with Johnson Wagner and J.B. Holmes and went on to win his first major at the Masters in 2015. 

Rose started the 2017-2018 season with a win at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions and has four top-10 finishes, including a third-place finish last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Rose is making his sixth appearance at the Houston Open.

To date, the Houston Open will have 10 major championship winners in the field, and six top 25 in the world including No. 14 Henrik Stenson, No. 18 Phil Mickelson, and No. 21 Rafa Cabrera Bello.
