Rockets player Terrence Jones accused of stomping on sleeping homeless man in Portland

He's charged with harassment

HOUSTON - Houston Rockets player Terrence Jones was arrested overnight, accused of stomping on a sleeping homeless man in Oregon.

Portland police say a sergeant patrolling the area saw a large group of people exit the Tube nightclub at 18 Northwest 3rd Avenue and spill out into the street and sidewalk.

While watching the group walk away from the bar, police say the sergeant observed Terrence Jones walk by a doorway where two homeless men were sleeping. According to police, Jones yelled, "Wake up," then raised his leg and stomped down on one of the men's legs.

Officers contacted Jones among the group of approximately eight people about a half a block away and took him into custody.

The victim, 46-year-old Daniel John Kellerher, received a minor leg injury and did not require immediate medical attention, police say.

Jones, 21, was transported to Central Precinct then to the Multnomah County Jail. He's charged with harassment.
