HOUSTON - The latest odds released by online sportsbook bovada.lv, list the Houston Astros as the favorite to win the World Series.
The Astros hold the best record in baseball at 38-16 and are currently riding a season-best seven game winning streak.
They are currently at 19-to-4 to win it all. Those odds push them past the Chicago Cubs (5-to-1), Cleveland Indians (13-to-2) and the Washington Nationals (13-to-2).
When the month of May began, the Astros had only the fourth-best odds. The team tied a franchise record with 22 wins in May (22-7).
Houston is also obviously the favorite to win the AL pennant and their division, the AL west, which they currently lead by 11 games over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Astros second baseman Jose Altuve and shortstop Carlos Correa, each hold 9-to-1 odds to win the AL MVP, which place them behind only Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and Mookie Betts of the Boston Red Sox.
The pitching staff is also near the top of the betting favorites with Dallas Keuchel at 5-to-1 to win the AL Cy Young award, (trails only Chris Sale of Boston).
Lance McCullers is just a notch behind him at 12-to-1, fourth-best odds to claim the Cy Young award.
