Houston Texans introduce number one pick Jadeveon Clowney

HOUSTON - The newest addition to the Bulls on Parade landed in Houston Friday.

The Houston Texans introduced their number one draft pick, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

"I feel great. I'm glad to be a part of this organization. I feel like it's home," said Clowney. "I'm just ready to get going with these guys right here."

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien and general manager Rick Smith raved about their top pick.

"These are the types of guys we're looking for on this team. We're looking for team guys, we're looking for tough guys," said O'Brien. "I think this guy is going to come in here and work hard."

As for pairing up Clowney with J.J. Watt, Smith said that will be up to defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, saying, "We've got some flexibility."

Clowney dismissed any talk of injuries, saying he's fine and he's ready to go.

"I'm here to work and help win games," Clowney said.

Clowney will wear No. 90, the same number that the Texans 2006 first overall pick Mario Williams wore during his time in Houston.

With the first pick in the second round of the NFL Draft, the Texans switched sides of the ball and drafted guard Xavier Su'a-Filo from UCLA.
