HOUSTON – They are World Champions. They won the first-ever World Series for Houston. They are H-Town heroes. But even with their celebrity status, the Houston Astros players are just human beings, living life, doing everyday things. There is proof of that in their social media accounts. Alex Bregman found himself in gridlock Thursday night, so he posted his view behind the wheel in his Instagram story. So next time you’re stuck in a virtual parking lot on 45, 59 or 290, just remember the Astros third baseman has been there too.
2. THEY HAVE CHEAT DAYS
MVP Jose Altuve apparently likes to splurge by eating cereal and ice cream together. He posted a photo on Instagram showing a ”sugar fest” that he enjoyed one day before spring training last year.
3. THEY PLAY VIDEO GAMES
Lance McCullers, Jr. is a gamer on the field and off the field. An Instagram post from last year shows him holding an Astros-themed controller, with the caption: “Eeeyyyyy about to game all night”
4. THEY TAKE MIRROR SELFIES
Yuli Gerriel isn’t shy about standing in front of a mirror and snapping pictures. There are several mirror selfies on his Instagram page.
5. THEY BINGE WATCH TOGETHER (or they’re supposed to)
It’s a conversation (or fight) almost every couple has had. You just don’t watch a popular Netflix/Hulu/AmazonPrime show without the other. Carlos Correa and his fiancée Daniella Rodriguez have that agreement. But apparently Correa has “Netflix and no chill.” Rodriguez tweeted some shade to her future husband this week, saying he watched an episode of “Stranger Things” while she was sleeping. No, Carlos. Just no.
6. THEY LOVE THEIR KIDS
Marwin Gonzalez frequently posts pictures of his children on Instagram. He and his wife have three children. The third child was born just hours after Game 1 of the ALCS, in which the Astros beat the Yankees by a score of 2-1.
7. THEY ENJOY THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE
Is there anything more relaxing than sitting by a fire. Pitcher Collin McHugh posted this on his Instagram story Thursday night: “First firepit of the offseason” with a sunglasses-wearing emoji.
8.THEY GET STARSTRUCK
Justin Verlander was interviewed on the Today Show Friday morning. His wife, Kate Upton, got to watch Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on the plaza. She posted an Instagram video and was obviously excited to see the famous country couple perform together.
9. THEY SNAPCHAT
Jose Altuve got some of his teammates together for this snap. It’s a pose almost every snap-chatter has recorded; except that we do it with friends and not world champions.
10. THEY GO OUT WITH THEIR FRIENDS
Dallas Keuchel showed us even Astros like to go out when they have something to celebrate. One photo posted on Instagram shows the pitcher and some teammates out at Concrete Cowboy in Houston after winning the ALCS against the Yankees and advancing to the next round.
11. THEY LIKE TO DRESS UP THEIR PETS
Almost every pet owner has done it – put clothes or accessories on their dog or cat. Count Carlos Correa in that group. He posted an Instagram story this week showing him putting a cap on his pup.
12. THEY GO TO AMUSEMENT PARKS
Okay, so this amusement park happens to be Disney World. And they went there after winning the World Series. That’s not something the average person does. But they do have the same smiles we all have when we hop on a thrill ride! This photo was an Instagram post by Jose Altuve.

Who doesn’t like a good #TBT? Cameron Maybin posted this throwback baseball picture on his Instagram page.
14. THEY STRUGGLE WITH THEIR FITNESS
Justin Verlander posted a video Thursday showing Kate Upton literally pushing him up a hill. Of course, it looks like they just jumped off the cover of a magazine, but they work out – just like us!
