Duane Brown not expected at beginning of Houston Texans Training Camp

SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – The Houston Texans will hold the first practice of their 2017 training camp at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, on Wednesday morning.

They will do so without their longest-tenured player, left tackle Duane Brown, who is embroiled in a contract dispute with the team.

Brown was officially placed on the reserve/did not report list Tuesday.

The 31-year-old, 10-year veteran did not participate in the team’s offseason workouts, as he is set to enter into the final two years of the contract extension he signed in 2012.

He’s set to earn just under $19 million total for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, but that money is not guaranteed.
He is subject to $40,000 in fines for each day of training camp he misses.

The Texans also placed defensive lineman T.J. Daniel on the active/physically unable to perform list. Defensive end Joel Heath and linebacker Dayon Pratt were placed on the active/non-football injury list.
