Astros, Red Sox prepare for postseason rematch with World Series appearance at stake

HOUSTON – The Astros will face the Boston Red Sox in the American League Championship Series.

The Red Sox advanced with a Game 4 win Tuesday night in New York.

Houston advanced by completing a sweep of the Cleveland Indians on Monday.

Here's a look at the matchup in the ALCS:

Astros vs. Red Sox:

Houston went 4-3 against Boston this season. Houston hosted the Red Sox for a four-game series at Minute Maid Park, and then visited Fenway Park for a three-game set.

In their seven matchups this season, the Astros averaged 4.9 runs per game and the Red Sox averaged 4.4 runs per game.

Historically, the Red Sox have a 31-23 record against the Astros, including a 17-10 record at Fenway Park.
