Astros say pre-sale ticket issues resolved; ticket sales now open to public

Astros home playoff game tickets go on sale today

HOUSTON – Tickets for the Astros’ American League Division Series sold like hotcakes when they went on sale at noon on Monday.

There were still some tickets available through the Major League Baseball website, but the availability constantly changes.

“I got one for Game 2. I heard Game 1 sold out in five minutes,” said Sam Medwetsky, an Astros fan who was shopping at the team store at Minute Maid Park on Monday.

“Got some new swag, getting all jacked up for the postseason run that we’re about to have. World Champions, baby!” said Medwetsky as he motioned the "No. 1" sign with his hand.

Presale for individual tickets began at 11 a.m. The Astros said some buyers experienced issues with the pre-sale codes, but tweeted at 11:50 a.m., "We encourage fans that had password problems to try again. They are working. No passwords needed at 12:00pm."

Tickets will be available for purchase by phone at 1-800-ASTROS2, online at www.astros.com/tickets and at the Minute Maid Park Box Office.

Due to a limited number of individual game tickets available for postseason games, fans are encouraged to register for the postseason purchase lottery pre-sale opportunity.

“Even through thick and thin, even when they had bad seasons we still supported them,” said Don Murphy about the support he and his wife have had for the Astros.

“Not yet, we’re working on it, we’re working on it,” Murphy responded after he was asked if he he’s snagged his playoff tickets yet.

“Each member of my family has to have one, the Astros won the division, so we have to get ready for the next few games,” said Manny Aragon who was shopping at the team store with this daughter. “We were online today trying to find some tickets, some available, so most likely we’ll get some tonight.”

Stubhub.com had tickets for about $59.99 and SeatGeek.com had $66 playoff game tickets, but the availability and prices keeps changing.

Additionally, 2017 postseason access is guaranteed by purchasing 2018 season tickets, on-sale now by calling 1-800-ASTROS2 or by visiting www.astros.com/postseason.

Online, one 2018 season ticket will cost $2,407.
