JEFF DRISKEL
QB
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Not a great week all around as Brian Hill was a bust, but we did ok at QB. I projected a solid week for Nick Foles and he had…a solid week.
This week we’re going with Jeff Driskel, and not because of Jeff Driskel. He’s playing Washington, who is terrible and has some pretty good pieces around him. Driskel showed he’s capable of putting up good numbers against decent defenses two weeks in a row. There’s no reason he can’t do it against a bad defense.
Predicted Points (Standard): 20.2
Bo Scarbrough
RB
DETROIT LIONS
Sticking with the Lions and sticking with opportunity like we did last week with Brian Hill (which didn’t work), I’m going with Bo Scarbrough. When Kerryon Johnson went down, the Lions went to a running back by committee approach originally, led by Ty Johnson. Scarbrough has been better than Johnson and played well enough last week to likely get even more carries. Game script sets up for him well against a bad Washington team. He’s only 29% owned so there’s a good chance you could get him in your league. I think he has something similar to his 55-yard, 1 TD performance last week.
Projected Points (Standard/PPR): 12.8/12.8
HUNTER RENFROW
WR
Oakland Raiders
Renfrow has gotten 22 targets over the last three games and has looked like a solid option for Derek Carr and the Raiders. A touchdown obviously helps, but his floor is relatively high, especially if you need someone in a PPR league.
Projected Points (Standard/PPR): 6.1/11.1
JAMES WASHINGTON
WR
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
This is another projection based on opportunity. The Steelers lost Juju Smith-Shuster and Dionte Johnson to injury. Both are unlikely to play against the Bengals, leaving James Washington to get a bunch of targets. Unfortunately, his quarterback, good ol’ Mason Rudolph isn’t very good, so his ceiling is limited.
Projected Points (Standard/PPR): 7.3/13.3
TEXANS PICK: CARLOS HYDE, RB
With the Texans favored, I think there’s a good chance game script and goal line work goes Hyde’s way. This could be one of those games where Hyde is used to burn clock. He also gets enough opportunities in the red zone on a good offense to justify a start this week. I think he’ll go for around 74 yards and a touchdown, with maybe a short catch.
Projected Points (Standard/PPR): 13.7/14.7
