Texans to celebrate Fan Appreciation Day on Christmas against Steelers

HOUSTON – The Texans will celebrate fans in Week 16 against the Steelers at NRG Stadium.

The game, which happens to fall on Christmas Day, will kick off at 3:30 p.m. It will be broadcast on KPRC2.

The team said the game will feature several game day moments to thank its many devoted fans.

Texans season ticket holders will be automatically entered to win Super Bowl LII tickets when they scan their tickets at the gates.

Before kickoff, season ticket members will serve as the Texas state flag holders, and during halftime, 11 lucky ticket holders will have the chance to win incredible prizes in the Christmas Day Scramble.

What to look for when the Texans take on the Steelers this Christmas Day:

  • Houston Texans season ticket members who get their tickets scanned at the gates will be automatically entered to win Super Bowl LII tickets.
  • Santa TORO and the Houston Texans Cheerleaders will provide pregame entertainment.
  • The 2017 Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl head coaches, University of Texas head coach Tom Herman and University of Missouri head coach Barry Odom will serve as the home-field advantage captains.
  • Texans season ticket members will be the Texas state flag holders.
  • The U.S. Air Force will serve as the color guard.
  • The annual Fan Appreciation Day tradition of the Texans Fanthem continues as fans will loudly sing the national anthem in unison, led by Texas country music rising star and Houston native Julia Cole.
  • Halftime will feature the Christmas Day Scramble, in which 11 lucky season ticket members will be selected to play and get the chance to win the following amazing prizes: lunch with a player, provided by NOV; an RTIC bundle; a $1,000 H-E-B gift certificate; a Texans Team Shop Shopping Spree, courtesy of Coca-Cola; a 65-inch high-definition TV, courtesy of XFINITY; a $1,000 Ticketmaster gift certificate; a $1,000 United Airlines gift certificate; an Academy Outdoor Family Fun Package and four tickets to the 2017 Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl; a $1,000 Mattress Firm gift certificate; a round trip for two to the NFL Pro Bowl in Orlando, Florida and a round trip for two to Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  • Monday’s game will include the Spirit of Service Award presentation, the Pro Bowl cheerleader announcement and the Commissioner’s Cup winner announcement.
  • Through Santa TORO’s Gift Grab, three lucky children will have the opportunity to score gifts from Santa TORO.
  • In keeping with the theme of fan appreciation and the holiday season, there will be several giveaways from corporate sponsors throughout the game.
