Daily Craig: The show has a point

I was listening to ESPN radio yesterday and the HOOT A MINUTE "Dan Le Batard Show." He got my attention discussing all the "safe plays" in the NF-HELL.  Short passes like button hooks, screens, and 5 yard dinks and dunks. It is rampant and of course, the show made fun of Brock. They also decried the idea the Packers are now encouraging Aaron Rodgers to do the short, safe thing too. Un Rodgers like. Deplorable. I am sure Green Bay will go against that and unload against Houston. However, the show has a point. The NF-HELL is predictable and copycat.

If every sports takes this approach we are in deep doo doo. Of course motor racing has beaten the other sports in copy catting for years. I once told A.J.Foyt if he brought out the no. 14 Gilmore Indy car with an aerial and a fox tail the other owners would do the same within 2 days. Baseball could throw out the homer hitters and just bunt.  Every play in the NBA would lead to a layup. Maybe a dunk too. Soccer would only have penalty kicks.

I think the NF-HELL'S lack of big plays is a problem and has a direct effect on a drop in the TV ratings. But the league is still the richest in pro sport and I can't see the average fans going away for good. Especially this season with about 24 of the 32 teams doing exactly the same thing. You pick the best team. Most experts can't.
