Rockets to hold open auditions for new Clutch mascot

HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets are holding open auditions to find someone to be behind the mask of the new Clutch the Rockets Bear.

Auditions will be held for enthusiastic applicants at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Toyota Center.

Applicants must be 18 or older and must have graduated from high school by Oct. 1. They must have a valid passport and photo ID along with a completed application, a release form and a current color headshot.

Walk-ins on the day of the auditions will be accepted. There will be four rounds in the auditions with cuts being made throughout.

  • Round 1: Interview and question
  • Round 2: Skills round
  • Round 3: Open performance round in costume
  • Round 4: Finalists announced and scheduled for final interviews

The auditions will start with registration at 8:30 a.m., and the last finalist will be seen by 8 p.m.
