HOUSTON – Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa has been named the American League Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 8-14.
It's Correa's 2nd player of the week award, and the Astros 5th. Tyler White, Jose Altuve and Colby Rasmus have each won once.
Correa hit safely in each of the Astros' 7 games during the week. He racked up 12 hits in 28 at bats, scored 6 runs, hit 3 doubles, 3 home runs, had 12 runs batted in and compiled a 1.324 on-base plus slugging percentage.
The 12 RBI led the AL for the week.
Corres has a 10-game hitting streak alive and leads all AL SS in RBI.
