Texans host playoff pep rally

HOUSTON – The city of Houston is ready to paint the town deep steel blue, battle red and liberty white as the Texans prepare for their AFC Wild Card playoff game Saturday against the Chiefs.

On Thursday, the Texans will hold a pep rally at CityCentre Plaza from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Texans fans can win prizes and playoff giveaways. The Houston Texans Cheerleaders will perform, along with the Deep Steel Thunder band.

Cheerleaders, Texans Ambassadors and mascot TORO will sign autographs at an after-party starting at 7 p.m. at the Houston Texans Grille.

Fans can win tickets to Saturday's AFC Wild Card game if they spot a Houston Texans stencil around town, then post a photo with the stencil and the hashtag #Texansplayoffs.

Buildings around Houston will also show off Texans colors. City Hall and the Wells Fargo Plaza will be lit read, white and blue on Friday and Saturday. The Chase Tower will be lit up red on those days. And a Texans playoff banner will be hung from the Amegy Building near the Galleria.
