HOUSTON - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a warning to pet owners after a salmonella outbreak has been linked to dry dog food.

The outbreak sickened 47 people in Texas, and as many as 15 in the United States and Canada.  The illnesses were linked to dry dog food produced by Diamond Pet Food processors at a South Carolina plant.

In April, Diamond Pet Foods issued several recalls, including Costco's Kirkland Signature brands of dog and cat food.
