CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO, CANADA – The "saddest dog in the world" is once again without a home.
Lana, a 2-year-old mixed Labrador, made worldwide headlines in 2015 when photos of the dejected-looking pup were released after her adopted family had returned her.

Back then, the shelter claimed that Lana, who was born in Mexico and taken to Canada, was too sad to go on walks.
Thousands of applications were sent in to adopt Lana and The Dodo reports the shelter received $15,000 in donations.
However, despite being fostered in several homes, Lana has been returned to the shelter when the boarding facility she was at became too full.
The rescue group Rescue Dogs Match posted an ominous note on their Facebook page, saying Lana only has until May 20th.
The group says Lana may need to put to sleep if she is unable to find a permanent home.
A shelter official believes the issues with Lana stem from her not being a dog to pet or play with.
"Lana is a silly fun girl," Brenda Dobranski, founder of Rescue Dogs Match, told The Dodo. "But she is not the type of dog that will let you give belly rubs to and sleep in bed with. She loves to have a job."
