Women caught on camera stealing wallet from Stafford office

STAFFORD, Texas – Stafford police are hoping surveillance video and images will help catch a pair of thieves who targeted an office building.

The video shows a pair of women walking into an office building in the 10700 block of Corporate Drive early Friday morning.

As one of the women distracts the workers in the front by casually talking with them, the other woman is hard at work in back -- stealing.

She can be seen pacing back and forth at a desk and ducking under it several times as she carefully takes what she wants.

The desk's owner, Zeyda Pitchford, happened to be outside the building taking a short break.

"I almost feel like I missed them somewhere in passing. Seriously, the timeframes were too close," she said.

Pitchford said the thieves stole her wallet, which had nearly $500 inside, as well as credit cards and other valuables.

"Always be mindful of who's coming into your office. Walk them out the door if you're in the wrong place," Pitchford said.

It turns out, Pitchford wasn't the only victim.

Police said other wallets were also stolen from the building and, not long after, the women used the stolen credit cards at several businesses across Houston.

With clear surveillance images, Pitchford believes someone is bound to recognize the women.

"Seriously, I hate you. Find something to do. Yeah, find something to do," Pitchford said.
