Woman's stolen car involved in crash in NE Harris County

Deputies: 1 person killed in crash

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Harris County Sheriff's deputies need your help finding the men involved in a carjacking and a fatal crash.

Two men in a stolen Isuzu were seen by witnesses speeding down the road and then crashing into Thomas Hooper, who was riding his motorcycle. Deputies said the driver and passenger fled from the scene.

The crash happened on Saturday night in the 400 block of Uvalde in northeast Harris County. Hooper was sent to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Before the crash, deputies say the truck involved in the crash had been stolen from a Walgreens parking lot.

Deputies said two suspects carjacked a woman.

"My niece had been carjacked. She was right down the street at Walgreens picking up a prescription," said Stephanie Chartion, owner of the stolen vehicle. "I can't believe this happened. I can't believe somebody was hurt, somebody died."

For Chartion and her family, that was their only vehicle.

Now they are trying to figure what they'll do for transportation. Deputies are trying to figure out whether the suspects involved in the carjacking were also the same suspects inside the car at the time of the crash.

Authorities said they do not have a good description of men. If you know anything about this incident, you are asked to call police.
