Woman's body found along I-45 North Freeway after apparent hit-and-run

HOUSTON – Ms. Yvette Armijo was found laying on the I-45 North Freeway on July 31, and police believe she was the victim of a hit-and-run accident.

Houston police said they responded shortly before 4 a.m. to a report of a body seen near the northbound West Little York exit ramp of I-45.

Police said they found a suspicious vehicle, with both the driver and passenger doors open, parked at the gas station down the road towards Little York. Police said the vehicle is not the same one that struck the woman, but they are investigating to see if it is connected to the death.

A gas station attendant told KPRC 2 that the night clerk saw a Ms.Armijo going in and out of the store multiple times, and saw her inside the suspicious vehicle.

The investigation shut down the two right northbound lanes of the North Freeway, but the freeway has reopened.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
