HARRIS COUNTY - Investigators spent nearly six hours gathering evidence after a violent home invasion in a northwest Harris County neighborhood.

Neighbors are still trying to make sense of what happened after a woman was robbed and sexually assaulted during the home invasion. It occurred at a home on Temple Hill Lane near Cypress Rosehill Road and Huffmeister Road.

"That's shocking," said neighbor George Wright. "It really, really blows me away that it happened in this neighborhood because it's usually pretty quiet and most of the neighbors over here sure surely watch out for each other."

Harris County sheriff's investigators told Local 2 just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, someone forced their way into the woman's home, tied her up and stole undisclosed items. They said during the course of the home invasion she was also sexually assaulted.

The unsettling news has some folks taking extra precautions.

"I've already talked to my wife about that," said George Wright. "My house is armed. If something comes up and I have to handle it I will handle it. Unfortunately, I hate that it happened to one of my neighbors."
