Authorities said deputies responded to a disturbance at Broussard’s ex-girlfriend’s home on May 3. Deputies said Broussard forced his way into the home and, after an argument, Broussard punched the unidentified ex-girlfriend several times as a child watched.

At one point, authorities said Broussard threatened the woman with a knife, slashed a mattress and damaged other items in the room.

Deputies said Broussard stole the woman’s purse and phone, and got away in an SUV.

Deputies searched the house and found bedding, water bottles, food, and plastic bottles filled with urine in the attic, WGNO reported.

Deputies believe that Broussard had been living in the attic for some time, but they don't exactly know how long.

Deputies were called to the same home a few days earlier, on April 29, on a claim that Broussard had entered the home without permission. Deputies said they couldn’t find him or make contact with him after the May 3 incident.

Broussard turned up in Baton Rouge. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said a Louisiana state trooper arrested him on May 24 in a stolen vehicle.

Broussard will be booked into jail on outstanding warrants, as well as for possession of a stolen vehicle. He also faces charges of two counts of stalking, domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, domestic abuse aggravated assault, theft of a motor vehicle, felony theft, home invasion, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and simple criminal damage to property.
