Woman with baby stripped down, held at gunpoint in home invasion in northwest Houston

HOUSTON – A man said he was tied up, and his girlfriend and her baby were forced into a closet, during a home invasion Tuesday in northwest Harris County.

It happened in the 2400 block of Treadslow Lane.

The man, Karl Gerbitz, said his family was watching a movie when the doorbell rang.

“The next thing I know, they were running into the house with guns,” Gerbitz said.

He said there were about four to five men and some of them were wearing masks. He said they tied him up, pointed a gun at his head and forced him to get on the ground. They made his girlfriend strip down and get in a closet with her baby, Gerbitz said.

“They asked for my car, they asked for my phone,” he said.

They ended up getting away with an Xbox.

Gerbitz believes they were searching for something else, but doesn’t know what. The entire time he said he was just praying they would not kill his family.

“I was supposed to be at work and faith led me to stay at home with my girl,” Gerbitz said. “I stayed home, the situation happened and I reacted.”

Nobody was injured during the incident.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call Precinct 4.
