HOUSTON - Houston police officers are looking for two women who robbed a mother at gunpoint in southwest Houston.

Rosie Shephard, 57, said she was walking home to her apartment at the Westwood II Apartments in the 9500 block of Deering about 6:45 a.m. Monday, when two women approached her.

"I just came back from getting breakfast and one of the girls asked me to hand over my purse," said Shephard. "I told her I didn't have a purse and then she pushed her way into my apartment, grabbed my purse and then ran," she said.

According to Shephard, the other woman had a gun in her hand.

"She pointed the weapon at me and what was I supposed to do? I couldn't scream because I was scared she would shoot me. She grabbed my necklace and snatched it right off of my neck," said Shepherd.

The thieves took off before police arrived, but officers believe the suspects were hiding out at the Forum Plaza Apartments in the 10100 block of Forum Park.

Shepherd was not injured during the robbery but she said she will be moving in the near future.
