Woman loses control of vehicle on West Loop

HOUSTON - Police are investigating what caused a woman to lose control of her vehicle on the freeway early Friday morning.

The accident occurred around 1:45 a.m. Friday at the West Loop in west Houston.

Houston police said the driver was taking the exit ramp at Post Oak when she lost control of her vehicle, drove into a grassy area, slammed into a tree and then hit a metal guard rail.

Officials said the car flipped, but the woman suffered only minor injuries. She was transported to an area hospital as a precaution.

Houston police are investigating whether wet roads or alcohol played a role in the crash.
