HOUSTON - A woman was killed in an early morning mobile home fire, the Houston Fire Department said.
The fire started in the 5400 block of Van Zandt Street around 7 a.m. Monday.
Firefighters say they were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes.
When firefighters were able to enter the mobile home, they found the body of 62-year-old Nancy Ann Holcomb.
Fire investigators say there were extension cords around the outside that were being used to heat the trailer.
Police say Holcomb was not able to escape before she was overcome by smoke inhalation and fire.
The fire appeared to be accidental and no foul play is suspected, according to investigators.
The outcome of the investigation is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
