HOUSTON - A woman was killed after her car was hit by a semi truck in southeast Houston late Thursday morning.
The accident between an 18-wheeler and passenger car happened just after 10 a.m. in the 4600 block of 4600 Almeda Genoa and Swingle.
Police said the 18-wheeler was traveling east on Almeda Genoa when it hit a gold Nissan Altima that pulled in front of the truck from a private drive.
The 40-year-old female driver of the Nissan died at the scene.
Investigators said the truck driver was interviewed and did not exhibit any signs of intoxication. He was released without charges.
The investigation is continuing.
