Woman killed after speeding, running red light near Webster, police say

GALVESTON, Texas – A 32-year-old woman was killed in a crash near Webster on Sunday, according to a release from the Houston Police Department.

The woman's identity is pending verification by authorities.

Police said the woman, who was driving a white Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on Old Galveston Road, was speeding when she ran a red light at the intersection of El Dorado Boulevard around 9:40 p.m.

The Santa Fe struck a gray Chevrolet Colorado truck and a white Jeep Liberty that were both eastbound on El Dorado, according to police.

The Jeep then struck a light pole.

The woman was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The driver of the Colorado was taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
