Husband sought in stabbing death of HISD bus driver

HOUSTON – Authorities said they are looking for the husband of a Houston Independent School District bus driver who was found stabbed to death in a car Wednesday in southeast Houston.

The investigation was reported at 5:27 a.m. in the 6600 block of Fairway Drive, near Weslow Street.

Houston police said they believe the woman, who was identified as 30-year-old Kaouta Domingue, was driving the car down the street with a male passenger when she was attacked. The car was found crashed into a ditch with hazard lights flashing.

Police said it appears the man who was in the car jumped out, stole a red Jeep and fled the scene. The Jeep was later found nearby.

HISD interim Superintendent Grenita Lathan said Domingue, who had worked for the district for five years, was on her way to work when she was killed.

Domingue as a loving, caring person who worked with a lot of special needs students.
