Woman found dead in North Houston apartment

Husband refuses to let police inside

HOUSTON - Police are investigating after a woman was found shot to death in her North Houston apartment building.

It happened Saturday around 12:30 a.m at the Oak Villa Apartments on Little York Road.

According to Houston police, the husband and wife had been arguing throughout the day in their apartment.

The husband told police he stepped outside for a moment and that is when he heard a gunshot from inside the apartment.

The husband says that he then put on a latex glove and tried to put pressure on her wound before asking a neighbor to call the police.

When police arrived they say they found the woman dead with a gunshot wound to the neck.

They also discovered a 10-day-old infant inside the apartment.

The husband refused to give consent for investigators to search the apartment, police said.

Houston police then issued a warrant and the crime scene unit was called in investigate.
