HOUSTON – A driver was killed Saturday morning after she slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler, police said.
The incident was reported at 1:25 a.m. in the 3000 block of Almeda-Genoa Road.

The 18-wheeler was stopped and waiting for a gate to open to turn in to a property when it was struck from behind by the woman's red Volvo 670 driven, officials said.
Investigators said the woman failed to control her speed. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and will not face charges.
The incident is under investigation.
