Woman charged in deadly wrong-way crash

HOUSTON - Police said the woman who drove the wrong way and killed a motorcyclist on the Katy Freeway has been charged. 

It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday in the 11600 block of the Katy Freeway. 

According to police, a motorcyclist was driving on the exit ramp of the freeway when he was hit by a vehicle going the wrong way.

The 58-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene.

The driver of the car was identified as 40-year-old Ashley Tran.

Tran was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with minor injuries. She was later arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The victim's name has not been released.
