Father, 3-year-old caught in gunfire during drive-by in southwest Houston

Another man was target of shooting, police say

HOUSTON – An innocent father, his 3-year-old and another man were wounded Thursday during a drive-by shooting in southwest Houston, police said.

Police said a 21-year-old man was standing with a group around 6:30 p.m. outside a business in the 6000 block of Dashwood Drive when a gold Cadillac pulled up. At least one person started shooting at the man from inside the car, according to investigators.

The driver then drove down the street, made a U-turn and someone opened fire at the man again, injuring him police said.

Surveillance video has been released of the shooting.

A 28-year-old father and his 3-year-old, who were not targets of the shooting, were caught in the gunfire, police said.

The three victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The gunman has not been arrested.
