What's the weather for the BP MS150?

Headline Goes Here

Come Saturday morning, Houston will experience the coldest temperatures since March 26 to start the BP MS-150.  Our record low temperature for the date is 44 degrees set back in 1901.  I'm forecasting 42 degrees!  At least we'll have a light to calm wind so it won't feel any colder, but waiting in the start line to ride will be cold.  Dressing in layers is a good idea.

Here is your hour by hour forecast for the ride to La Grange:

We warm up to a high temperature of 72 degrees, but as you can see most of the morning will be chilly and cool.  The good news is we'll have a light tail wind from the east in the morning.  In the afternoon winds come from the southeast and pick up a little speed.  Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and wear lots of sunscreen for the ride to Austin.

Once you get to La Grange the weather will be beautiful!  We'll have a low humidity, light breeze and comfortable mild temperatures.  However, make sure you have some warm clothes for a chilly evening.  Once the sun goes down temperatures will quickly fall into the 50s and stay there all night long.  Because most of the riders are sleeping outside at the fairgrounds, these temperatures will feel cold if you aren't dressed properly or have a thin blanket.

Temperatures won't be as cold Sunday morning, but it will still be chilly.  I've got more good news for the ride to Austin.  We'll have stronger tail winds out of the southeast 10 to15 mph, so the most grueling part of the ride will be will be made a little easier no matter which route you choose.

Here is your hour by hour forecast for the finish line in Austin:

Owen Conflenti, Andy Cerota and I will also be making the ride with the St. Arnold team.  I'd love to meet you, so if you see me in my Pumpkinator Ride Jersey Saturday make sure you say hi.  Be safe and have a great ride.
