What's brewing in Houston: Bakfish Brewing Co.

HOUSTON – Bakfish Brewing Company, the only local brewery in greater southeast Houston, is located in Pearland on FM 518 on the east side near Friendswood.

The brewery, less than two years old, is a popular spot with locals and visitors alike with a very local feel to its 2,000 square foot taproom.

"Pearland just seemed like the right community for it. There's a whole population of people we felt were very under served," owner and head brewer Kris Szecsy said.

While cozy inside and plenty of space for the dog and kids outside, Bakfish is all about the beer.

The core beer lineup has a wide variety to fit any palate, from the craft beer novices to hardcore enthusiasts, as well as some regularly rotating taps that will showcase traditional and more unique tastes.

The brewery is open seven days a week and pints are always available along with beer to-go growlers on site.
